SS16 TRENDS

1/20/2016

We're getting ready to launch our gorgeous new Spring/Summer 16 collection so now's the time to cast our minds back to the catwalks of September's fashion week to highlight the key trends of the season ahead of us.

1. Lace
Lace is always a staple for our classic occasion dresses but this season it has an extra dash of romance. Choose between neutral tones of cream as seen everywhere from Givenchy to Simone Rocha or go all out in striking vivid tones like Christopher Kane, Burberry and Gucci.

2. SHOULDERS
The new body zone to show off this season is the shoulders, which is very good news for most people! Think of relaxed, minimalist silhouettes in pretty dresses to highlight.

3.Print Clash
Prints are bold and worn together this season. Whatever rules there were appear to have been thrown out of the window in spectacular style and we see the most bizarre of combinations somehow working! Look to Dries Van Noten for strong inspo.

4. Culottes
Culottes have been having a comeback for a few seasons now but have really hit their stride for SS16. They've been seen on many catwalks from Zac Posen to Victoria Beckham and work perfectly for day or night depending on your styling.

The Rules of SALE

When sale shopping it's very easy to be tempted by big discounts, but will you actually wear it?

We like to follow these simple rules to ensure that huge saving is in fact that, and not a waste of money and wardrobe space.

1. MASTERPIECES ONLY - buy something that you'll love every time you wear it, don't buy it just because it's cheap. It's a total waste of money.

2. INVEST - choose well made items that will stand the test of time.

3. GO DESIGNER - a couple of drab high street pieces will add up to the same amount as that fabulous piece you've been admiring, treat yourself.

4. ALTER - don't be afraid to go to the tailors. If the fit is nearly perfect but not quite the chances are a good tailor can sort that for you. We're not talking buying 3 sizes too small but if the hems need taking up or the waist needs a little nip, if the piece is worth it, it can be done.

5. AVOID THE CROWDS - shop online, in your lounge-wear, at 11pm. There's nothing worse than frantic shops. You can easily return anything you don't want, don't put yourself through that!
